Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The manuscript adheres to the style guidelines and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Journal Policies.
  • If the article is not formatted according to the LAYOUT provided for each submission type, it will not be considered for review and will be automatically rejected by the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal.
  • Authorship details have been removed from both the text and the file to ensure the anonymity required for the double-blind peer review process.
  • If it is found that the authors did not comply with this guideline, the article will be automatically rejected.
  • The author(s) confirm that they have followed the standards provided in the templates for each submission type and that the article complies with the journal's publication policies.
  • Authors are responsible for verifying plagiarism in their manuscript. If plagiarism is detected during the review or editing process, the article will be automatically rejected.

Author Guidelines

Welcome to the STEAM Wise Education Journal - UEMASUL (STEAMWISE). We appreciate your interest in submitting your work. To ensure a successful submission, please follow the guidelines below:

  1. Scope and Focus

STEAMWISE publishes original research articles, literature reviews, case studies, and experience reports in the field of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. We encourage submissions that integrate STEAM disciplines, present innovative methodologies, and promote inclusion and diversity.

STEAMWISE accepts partial results or conclusions of research from undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies from public and private educational institutions and research institutes in Brazil and abroad. The texts must be original or, at most, previously published as an oral communication at a scientific event in Brazil or abroad or published as a simple abstract in conference proceedings.

  1. Types of Manuscripts
  • Full Articles: Maximum of 5,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.
  • Expanded Abstracts: Maximum of 2,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures.
  • Case Studies: Maximum of 3,000 words.
  • Experience Reports: Maximum of 3,000 words.
  1. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should follow this template, according to the structure below:

  • Title: Clear and concise.
  • Abstract: Maximum of 250 words.
  • Keywords: Between 3 and 5 keywords separated by periods.
  • Introduction: Presentation of the problem, objectives, and relevance of the study.
  • Methodology: Clear description of the methods used.
  • Results: Presentation of the main findings.
  • Discussion: Interpretation of the results and implications.
  • Conclusion: Summary of the results and suggestions for future research.
  • References: According to the APA style (7th edition).
  1. Manuscript Formatting
  • Font: Lato, size 12.
  • Spacing: Double.
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
  • Page Numbering: Consecutive in the bottom right corner.
  • Tables and Figures: Sequentially numbered with appropriate captions.
  1. Submission and Review
  • Originality: The manuscript must be original and not previously published.
  • Plagiarism: The work must be free of plagiarism. All texts will be checked for originality.
  • Peer Review: All manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • Languages: We accept submissions in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
  1. Ethical Declarations
  • Ethical Compliance: Include a statement on ethical compliance, if applicable.
  • Informed Consent: Required for studies involving human subjects.
  • Ethics Committee Approval: Necessary for studies involving humans or animals.
